There are certain places in London that feel almost magical to me – the river is one of them. Whenever I walk along the South bank or across one of the bridges I feel how ancient London is; I see all the old and new buildings winding alongside the river, all the tourists and office workers milling about and it’s like I’m seeing everything for the first time, even though I’ve lived in London for three years now.
Knowing we don’t have much time left before we leave, I’ve been regularly taking pictures of my favourite places in London and in every batch the river appears; from visiting the Thames river festival in the summer, to snapping away while we stop for a drink at one of the pubs on the Thames. Often on my lunch break from work I’ll head down to the river and think about where we’ll be this time next year and try to freeze that feeling of anticipation and uncertainty in my mind.
