11 Jan Video: Three Months in Thailand
After four years we finally made it back to the country that started it all off for us: Thailand. In August 2009 we spent a month backpacking around the country – it was what got us hooked on travelling. This time around we stayed for three months; the longest we’ve spent in one country since beginning our trip. Not only that but we managed to persuade some of our friends and family to come for a visit too!
Three months in Thailand
We covered plenty of ground during our stay in Thailand. After arriving in Bangkok, we met some of our travel companions and headed to Chiang Mai, a city we grew to know very well. We learnt some war history in Kanchanaburi, visited Pai and Chiang Rai in the north and headed south to spend some time on the Thai islands.
We also found time to slow down and spend a whole month living in Chiang Mai; we established a nice little routine and got some much-needed rest and work done (yes, they can go together sometimes!). Finally we had one of our best travel experiences to date at the Elephant Nature Park volunteering at the Dog Rescue Project before finally crossing the border into Laos.

Posted at 03:47h, 13 JanuaryWhat a beautiful video you two! The sunsets are gorgeous and that was quite a leap off of the cliff into the water! And the baby elephant – so cute! You’ve had so many amazing adventures, good for you and keep traveling safely!

Posted at 10:35h, 27 JanuaryThanks Kerri, We liked bottle beach and Haad Salad on Koh Phangan best. To be honest we prefer northern Thailand in general though; Kanchanaburi, Pai and Chiang Mai are our favourite places. I’m looking forward to hearing about how you guys get on in Aisa 🙂
